Wojtek Makowski

Branding | Website

Wojtek Makowski is a Warsaw-based guitarist, composer, arranger, and producer whose work spans jazz, electronic, experimental, and film music. Over the years he has led and contributed to projects across a wide range of formats — from ensemble work with Trio Maku and GRUZ GANG to solo guitar-and-looper recordings mapping cities through sound, to scoring for film and television. The common thread is a restless refusal to settle in one place. The brief called for a visual identity and website that could hold that range without flattening it — something that would feel at home whether the music in question was a delicate jazz trio or an electronic experiment.

The logo is a W/M monogram in a square: minimal by design, and deliberately so. A musician who moves between styles needs a mark that doesn’t anchor him to any single one — something neutral enough to step back and let each project breathe, without disappearing entirely. The monogram achieves that. It carries presence without declaration, which is precisely what a versatile artist requires from a logo. Black throughout, with a single green accent used sparingly as the only point of colour.

Website

The website is a single-page build with one central requirement: the music must always be accessible. A persistent audio player runs across the entire site, letting visitors browse biography, video, archive, and shop while a track plays uninterrupted — drawing from Wojtek’s full album catalogue, with track selection available at any point without leaving the page. The shop offered downloadable albums directly. The archive documented his full range of collaborations and releases.

Dark, minimal, built for a musician who needed the design to ground and at the same time stay out of the way of the most important — the sound.
